Xpeng has revealed the interior design and key technology features of its upcoming G9L electric sport utility vehicle (SUV), providing a closer look at the company’s new five-seat flagship model ahead of its market launch.
The G9L is positioned as a premium electric SUV targeting both the Chinese and international markets.
Premium Cabin Design
The G9L features what Xpeng describes as a “Starry Universe First-Class Cabin” paired with a new Sahara Orange interior theme and velvet-textured leather upholstery.
According to the company, the cabin offers 5.1 square metres of usable interior space, providing more than one square metre per occupant and one of the largest second-row reclining areas in its segment.
The vehicle is equipped with AI-adaptive zero-gravity seats, a four-motor executive rear centre console and an onboard refrigerator shared with Xpeng’s flagship GX SUV.
Advanced Displays and Technology
A key feature of the G9L is its 88-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), which Xpeng says is the largest in its class.
The display delivers sustained brightness of up to 12,000 nits while maintaining image distortion below 1%.
Rear passengers are served by a 21.4-inch 3K infotainment touchscreen featuring TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification and an adjustable viewing angle of up to 75 degrees.
Other interior features include a 9-inch digital rear-view mirror with adaptive exposure control, dual 50-watt wireless charging pads, connected cup holders and powered physical sunshades for three sides of the cabin.
Performance and Platform
According to filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the G9L measures 5,120mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,100mm and a curb weight of approximately 2.72 tonnes.
The SUV is built on Xpeng’s 800-volt electric architecture, which the company says can add up to 450 kilometres of driving range in approximately nine minutes under compatible fast-charging conditions.
The model will also debut an upgraded version of Xpeng’s second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) artificial intelligence system, supported by computing performance of up to 2,250 TOPS.
Global Flagship Strategy
Xpeng said the G9L will also be offered as an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), continuing the company’s dual-powertrain strategy.
Pricing and launch timing have not yet been announced.
The G9L will join the six-seat GX SUV, which entered the market earlier this year, as one of Xpeng’s flagship SUV offerings aimed at different customer segments.
