With the Shanghai Auto Show quickly approaching, car enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly anticipating the exciting new models and technologies that various car companies have promised to unveil. Among them is XPeng, a renowned Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, which is preparing to showcase its latest vehicle technology architecture.
XPeng announced in a press release on Friday, April 14th, that it will hold a press conference on Sunday, April 16th, to unveil its next-generation vehicle technology architecture. The press conference will be hosted by XPeng’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, and will start at 3:00 pm Beijing time. The company has not yet revealed details about the event, but it will be streamed live on several channels, including XPeng’s official website.
Furthermore, XPeng will be debuting its latest production model at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, which runs from Tuesday, April 18th to Wednesday, April 27th, and will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. XPeng’s booth will be located at 6A08, in Hall 6.1.
The company’s new production model, which will be unveiled on the morning of April 18th, will be broadcasted live from 09:40 to 10:00 am Beijing time. Although the company did not reveal the name of the model, it is speculated to be the G6, an SUV that will compete with the Tesla Model Y. XPeng began teasing the G6 earlier this month by releasing several images of its exterior.
During the company’s four-quarter earnings call on March 17th, XPeng’s management confirmed that the G6, a new energy SUV in the price range of 200,000 yuan ($29,210) to 300,000 yuan, will be unveiled at the Shanghai auto show. They also announced that the G6 will be officially launched and delivered by the end of the second quarter. Mr. He, XPeng’s CEO, revealed that the monthly sales target for the G6 is 2-3 times that of the P7.
According to Mr. He, the G6 will have a significantly improved range, exceeding expectations, and will offer much more interior space than similar offerings from competitors. With the upcoming unveiling of its new production model, XPeng is set to make a big splash at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store.
