Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng plans to hire more than 6,000 workers in 2025, as the company aims to strengthen its workforce to meet growing demand. Founder and CEO He Xiaopeng shared this plan in an internal letter, also noting that the company expects market competition to intensify in 2025, with a price war set to begin in January.

Xpeng has already expanded its presence to 30 countries and regions, and the company is targeting to increase its global footprint to more than 60 markets in the coming year. He Xiaopeng highlighted these goals in the letter dated Tuesday.

In 2024, Xpeng delivered 190,068 vehicles, a 34.23% increase from the previous year, bringing its cumulative deliveries since inception to 590,379 vehicles by December’s end. The company’s performance was buoyed by the successful launch of the Mona M03, which debuted in late August at a starting price of RMB 119,800 ($16,410).

By late December, the 50,000th unit of the Mona M03 had rolled off the production line, signaling strong market acceptance. Meanwhile, the P7+, which was introduced in November, surpassed 10,000 units in cumulative deliveries within just one month.
