Xiaomi, the renowned tech giant, is making significant strides in the electric vehicle (EV) industry and is set to unveil its first EV, codenamed MS11, in 2024. Recent developments reveal that the car has successfully obtained certification from the Bluetooth Technology Alliance SIG, shedding light on its notable features and capabilities.
The certification process encompassed several different models of Xiaomi’s EV, labeled with IC4034-BD, IC4004-BD, IC4024-BD, IC4054-BD, IC4005-BD, and IC4015-BD. Notably, the listing confirms the integration of Bluetooth 5.2 and USB Media functionalities. An intriguing addition is the support for Apple CarPlay, allowing seamless iPhone integration with the car’s infotainment screen. This feature permits users to control various smartphone applications directly from the car’s interface, promoting a safer and more convenient driving experience.
For instance, when initiating a phone call, the car’s built-in speakers and microphone can manage audio output, eliminating the need to hold the phone. Furthermore, the inclusion of Siri voice assistant compatibility when connected via CarPlay enables hands-free operation, enhancing overall accessibility.
Certifications also divulge that the Xiaomi MS11 will be powered by Qualcomm’s automotive chipset, the Snapdragon 8295. This cutting-edge chip is anticipated to deliver a remarkable eight-fold increase in performance compared to the previous-generation Snapdragon 8155. Additional rumored specifications suggest the presence of a robust 101 kWh battery and support for high-voltage fast charging at 800 V.
The Xiaomi Car is expected to be competitively priced, falling within the range of 260,000 yuan to 350,000 yuan (approximately $36,400 to $49,000 USD). As Xiaomi ventures into the EV market, consumers eagerly anticipate the official launch of the MS11, which promises to combine innovative technology with sustainable mobility solutions.
