Xiaomi Hands Over the Making of Electric Cars Working on Smartmi

The plan of the Chinese technology giant, Xiaomi, which wants to make electric cars is getting closer to reality.

According to Gasgoo Autonews, Xiaomi’s subsidiary, Beijing Smartmi Technology Co., Ltd., will serve as the company that will produce the electric car.

One of their readiness is to recruit the best talent to be responsible for the process.

Ma Yongdong, former senior program engineering manager for the electric vehicle project at GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center, is said to have been part of the mission to build the electric car.

Not only him, but the information also explained that several other talents who did specialize in electronics and electricity from BAIC have also been recruited to strengthen Smartmi.
