Workhorse announced that its E-GEN electric vehicle (EV) platform has surpassed 10 million cumulative miles, marking a milestone in its commercial EV operations. The achievement highlights the platform’s use in real-world applications and its role in shaping the company’s next-generation vehicles, including the W56 step van.

The E-GEN platform, produced between 2015 and 2018 in Union City, Indiana, was Workhorse’s first commercial EV offering. More than 200 E-GEN trucks remain in operation, showcasing its longevity. The company has applied insights from the E-GEN to develop the W56, an electric step van designed for last-mile delivery and medium-duty fleet use.
