Wolftank Group, an Austrian energy and environmental solution company, has partnered with Italian public transport operator TPER to set up TPH2, a joint venture for hydrogen refueling systems in Bologna.
The new venture will provide integrated hydrogen refueling systems for Bologna’s public transport fleet of 127 fuel cell buses by 2026. In December of last year, TPER placed a large order for fuel cell buses in Bologna, part of a 90 million euro project to replace diesel buses with hydrogen-powered vehicles.
TPH2, owned 51% by TPER and 49% by Wolftank Italy subsidiary HGeneration, will manage the hydrogen refueling infrastructure and is governed by a five-member board with majority representation from TPER.

Wolftank recently completed a successful capital increase and now has 5.9 million euros available for expansion. No further technical details on the refueling systems and network have been provided by Wolftank or TPER.
“We were able to implement our capital increase successfully and in a very short time. It strengthens our liquidity base and positions us even better for upcoming growth,” says Peter Werth, CEO of Wolftank Group.” says CEO Peter Werth. “The market offers great opportunities, particularly in the area of future mobility. With our decades of hydrogen expertise, we have an excellent basis in this sector. With the new funds, we will implement orders such as for hydrogen refuelling systems or e-charging station infrastructure and will invest in our technological lead.”
