WiTricity’s Wireless EV Charging Technology to be Featured on Ask This Old House

WiTricity, a company specializing in wireless EV charging technology, will be showcasing its product in an upcoming episode of Ask This Old House. The episode, titled “Oven Ventilation, Wireless EV Charger,” will air on PBS on April 13th at 8:00 PM EST and will be available for streaming on various platforms starting on April 17th.

The WiTricity Haloℱ wireless charging system eliminates the need for plugging in, simplifying the charging process for electric vehicle (EV) owners. Studies have shown that many EV consumers are interested in wireless charging, which ranks higher in desirability compared to other features such as autonomous driving or assisted parking.

Amy Barzdukas, WiTricity’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed excitement at the opportunity to showcase the company’s technology to the Ask This Old House audience. As homes are built and retrofitted with more technology and electrification in mind, there is a growing demand for in-home EV chargers. Barzdukas sees this as an opportunity to demonstrate how WiTricity’s Halo system can make charging an electric vehicle as easy as parking.

WiTricity’s magnetic resonance technology charges EVs with the same efficiency as Level 2 plug-in charging. Drivers can charge their EVs by parking over a charging pad, using the global automotive standard for wireless charging of EVs, which was ratified by the Society of Automotive Engineers in 2020 and based largely on WiTricity’s designs and patents.
