Hycan unveiled its first MPV, the V09, at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. The large, pure electric vehicle is based on the company’s Concept-M car and sits on the H-GEA platform. Hycan claims that the platform integrates the body frame, chassis, and battery pack, using 65% high-strength steel and 20% hot-formed steel.
While no size information was provided, Hycan stated that the maximum vertical space inside the cockpit is 1288mm and the front and rear space in the cabin is 2834mm. The V09 has sliding doors and five-spoke wheels, and features a futuristic, sci-fi inspired front with exaggerated features, tear-eye headlights, and LED daytime running lights on either side.
The Hycan logo is located in the middle of the closed front grille. The car is equipped with 24 sensors, including a 130-line laser radar, an 8MP front-view wide-angle camera, a 2MP rear-view camera, four 3MP ultra-clear fisheye surround-view cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 AK2 ultrasonic radars, which enable 37 level 2+ driving assistance functions. According to Hycan, these sensors can accurately detect pedestrians from 100 meters away and vehicles up to 250 meters away.
The Hycan V09 is equipped with dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips that allow for multiple screen interactions in both the front and rear rows of the vehicle. While the power specifications have not been released, the V09 does come equipped with an 800V high-voltage system.
This system enables a 200km cruising range with just a 5-minute charging time, thanks to the energy management system which supports 380 kW super fast charging. In addition, the battery pack of the V09 has an energy density of 257 Wh/kg, allowing it to achieve a cruising range of over 750 km.
