Unlike easy-to-find petrol stations, EV filling stations appear to be fewer. This means that electric vehicle (EV) owners need to be more careful when planning their route.

However, the good news is that if the user is using Waze, you will soon be able to search and find EV charging stations on its map, according Ubergizmo.

Previously, owners could already show gas stations on a map and their Waze routes, but now there will be an option to search for EV charging stations as well.

According to Waze Head of Industry Jeffrey Kohl, “This is a very exciting moment for Waze as Volkswagen brings electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to our map for the first time ahead of an extremely busy holiday travel period.”

According to him, Volkswagen is helping to shape what EV looks like on the Waze map and it looks forward to highlighting the breadth of EV stations available across the US, especially as more automotive brands move towards an electric future.

Nonetheless, Google Maps is already able to show the EV charging location, and considering Waze is owned by Google, it’s no surprise that this feature is built into the app.
