Volvo will present sedan and station wagon electric cars

When talking about Volvo, you could say that this Swedish automotive manufacturer is one of the brands that is passionate about presenting environmentally friendly electrified car products. However, until now, after the launch of the EX90, the majority of Volvo’s electrified car products are only SUVs. However, Volvo has prepared electrified car products from various segments, from sedans to station wagons.

Reporting from Motor1, Volvo CEO Jim Rowan said that before presenting an electric car apart from an SUV, there were several things they had to fulfill. He said that before presenting an electric car other than an SUV such as a sedan or station wagon, the company must see whether it fits the target market and the needs that will be met.

Even though he still doesn’t clearly say yes, Jim Rowan said that he doesn’t rule out the possibility that there will be electric car products other than in the form of SUVs. ā€œWe see that the strategy we have set is very strict. We want to see the demographics and target markets desired by consumers in a country. Later, with these various considerations, it will be decided what products are appropriate for sale in a country,” said Rowan.

He added that pricing is also an important factor before this product will be sold to the market. Especially with the increasingly fierce market for environmentally friendly electric cars, Volvo certainly wants to be more careful so that the products they sell can be accepted in society. In fact, they also cooperate or expand with various other automotive products in realizing products that are accepted in the market.

Volvo itself is currently working with an automotive company from China, Geely, to present electric car products using the SPA2 modular platform. This platform uses the Sustainable Experience Architecture or SEA architecture which is specifically designed to use environmentally friendly materials and maximizes every product it presents to have carbon neutrality.
