Volvo C40 Recharge specifications : Everything you should know

Volvo is actively promoting its brand and plans to expand its electrification portfolio. One of them is the C40 Recharge, which uses full battery power with a capacity of 5 passengers.

The C40 Recharge is an SUV that is rugged and futuristic, while still maintaining an elegant feel. Its dimensions are 4,440 mm x 2,034 mm x 1,596 mm (LxWxH) and it has a wheelbase of 2,702 mm. The face of the C40 appears clean with a closed grille bearing the massive Volvo logo. The lighting sector is sharp, reinforced by Active Bending Pixel LEDs with Adaptive Shadow Technology and Active High Beam.

The side of the car looks aggressive with the roof sloping backwards. The indentation of the body combines with contrasting cladding of the body and the windows narrow to follow the shape of the roof. The foot sector uses 19-inch wheels wrapped in 235/50 tires at the front and 255/45 at the rear.

The hallmark of Volvo is clearly visible through the shape of the lamp. The style that is widely used in the model. The stop lamp follows the edge of the gambot-silhouette car. One third of the body is covered by a dark bumper that reinforces the feel of an SUV. The sporty impression is added through the use of a spoiler above the glass and the end of the tailgate. Automation is applied to the C40 Recharge. Like the trunk door that can open without needing to be pressed, aka hands-free.

The dashing character is also emitted by the interior. The soft angular shape of the box adorns the dashboard area a lot. The 12.3-inch instrument panel is embedded in the stylish thick frame mentioned earlier. Likewise, the 9-inch head unit is flanked by ventilation holes. It is connected to the audio system from Harman Kardon with a total of 13 speakers.

Under the head unit there is a row of additional setting buttons for air conditioning and multimedia. Control of the cabin cooling adjustment itself is made virtual through the head unit. Premium nuances are presented through the cabin upholstery game. The seats are characterized by suede and leather, but interestingly there is no use of leather at all by Volvo. Some areas even use recycled materials. The impression of luxury is further strengthened by the Panoramic Sunroof.

There are two options for mechanical heart affairs. Use a single motor rear wheel drive and dual motor all wheel drive. The power of the first variant reaches 237 hp with 420 Nm of torque, supplied by a 67 kWh battery with a cruising range of around 477 km. Meanwhile, twin motor users create 407 hp and 670 Nm of torque. The resource reaches 78 kWh which allows the ability to venture as far as 530 km.

Battery charging may take several durations, depending on the device in use. For Home Charging Type 2, the 1-phase 7.4 kW/32 A variant requires 12 hours. 3-phase model (11 kW/16A) approx. 8 hours. Meanwhile, DC fast charging with 50 Kw allows charging for 68 minutes. Whereas DC 150 Kw only takes 28 minutes.

Safety features and driving comfort are of course a concern for Volvo. Considering that this brand is known to often present cars with a high level of safety. There are 7 airbags covering all passengers. Driving is assisted by Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Lane Keeping Aid (LKA).

Standard technologies such as Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist are embedded. Parking is also easy and practical thanks to the Park Assist Camera 360 and Park Assist Sensor.
