Volkswagen’s ID.4 electric vehicle will make a cameo in Marvel’s upcoming superhero film, “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.” To celebrate, Volkswagen is launching a global “360-degree campaign” that includes custom content created in partnership with Marvel Studios, Bullitt, and director Anthony Leonardi III.

The ID.4 will be Ant-Man’s family car in the film, and Volkswagen’s custom spot is the beginning of the global marketing campaign, which will appear on social media, TV, and movie theaters. In addition to the custom spot, fans can expect a behind-the-scenes featurette that offers an inside look at the making of the movie and the ID.4’s role in it.

According to Gilbert Heise, Head of Global Brand Management and Consumer Insights at Volkswagen, Ant-Man and the ID.4 are a perfect match, as both are “likeable, authentic, and have a great sense of humor.”

“Marvel Studios films rank among the most successful movies of all time and Ant-Man is one of the most likeable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Integrating the ID.4 in the movie and the accompanying campaign enables us to reach millions of people all over the world. What’s more, the Ant-Man character is a perfect fit for our brand: he is likeable, authentic and has a great sense of humor” said Gilbert Heise.

Several electric vehicles have been present in a number of Marvel superhero films. Previously the Lexus RZ 450e electric crossover goes to Wakanda For Black Panther-Themed ad.
