Volkswagen will introduce a NACS-to-CCS charging adapter for ID.4 and ID. Buzz owners in North America, enabling access to Tesla’s Supercharger network and other fast-charging providers adopting the North American Charging Standard. The rollout aligns Volkswagen with a growing list of automakers offering NACS compatibility for existing EV models.
For vehicles produced before the 2026 model year, the adapter will be available beginning November 18 at Volkswagen dealerships or through the company’s website for $200.

Volkswagen said that original owners of 2025 model-year ID.4 and ID. Buzz vehicles may qualify for a $100 rebate after purchase. Starting with the 2026 model year, the adapter will become a standard inclusion with new EVs.
The adapter allows Volkswagen customers to use Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, which remains the largest fast-charging system in the region, and also works on other networks adopting NACS alongside CCS, including EVgo, Electrify America, ChargePoint and Ionna.

The move mirrors similar transitions by several automakers in the U.S. and Canada, such as Audi, Porsche, Kia, Hyundai and Ford.
Petar Danilovic, senior vice president of product marketing and strategy at Volkswagen of America, said the adapter provides a significant benefit for customers, noting they will gain access to more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers and over 5,000 Electrify America fast chargers across the United States.
