Volkswagen Initiates Pre-Orders for the ID.7 All-Electric Sedan in Europe

Volkswagen has officially opened the pre-order phase for its much-anticipated ID.7 all-electric sedan in Europe. The vehicle is being offered initially in a single trim level, the Pro variant, boasting an impressive WLTP range of up to 386 miles (621 kilometers).

As of today, prospective buyers in Germany can reserve the Volkswagen ID.7 Pro, priced at 56,995 euros. This figure, while reflective of the innovative features and cutting-edge technology the ID.7 offers, places it at a higher price point compared to the Tesla Model 3, which commences at 42,970 euros ($46,500) in the German market.

Volkswagen’s ID.7 Pro model is strategically equipped with an array of convenience and technological features, designed to create a compelling market proposition. Noteworthy inclusions are the augmented reality head-up display and the “Discover Pro Max” navigation system, both of which come as standard offerings.

The vehicle also boasts an assortment of advanced assist systems that will be available from launch. These include Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Emergency Assist, Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, and an exit warning system. Furthermore, the ID.7 Pro showcases the Area View 360-degree camera system, Keyless locking, and the Keyless Access starting system complete with Safelock functionality.

Under the hood, the VW ID.7 Pro derives its power from a 77-kilowatt-hour battery, which propels a rear-mounted electric motor capable of producing 282 horsepower (210 kilowatts) and a robust 402 pound-feet (545 Newton-meters) of torque.

This rear-wheel drive electric sedan impressively achieves an average fuel consumption as low as 14.1 kWh per 100 km, contributing to its maximum WLTP range of 386 miles on the Combined cycle. This outstanding range can be realized on the standard 19-inch wheels, featuring a stylish Hudson design in black with a diamond-cut finish on the ID.7 Pro.

Imelda Labbé, VW’s board member of management for sales, marketing, and after-sales, remarked, “The new ID.7 will impress our customers all over the world thanks to its long ranges, quick charging, spacious interior, and intuitive operation. The model therefore represents the new benchmark for all-electric premium models at Volkswagen.”

For those seeking personalization options, Volkswagen offers a range of optional equipment packages. These encompass the Interior package, Interior package Plus, Exterior package, and Exterior package Plus.

The Interior package enhances the driving experience with power ergoActive comfort front seats featuring memory functionality, massage programs, adjustable thigh support, and pneumatic lumbar support. This package also introduces ambient lighting with a palette of 30 different colors.

The Interior package Plus introduces supplementary airbags and a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system complete with 12 loudspeakers and a central speaker, a digital 16-channel amplifier, and a subwoofer. Additionally, premium ergoActive seats within this package gain intelligent seat climate control and targeted lumbar and pelvic area activation.

Regarding the Exterior packages, the base variant incorporates LED matrix headlights, rear tinted windows, and the innovative Easy Open & Close sensor-controlled luggage compartment opening and closing function. Opting for the Exterior Package Plus brings progressive steering and DCC adaptive chassis control, inclusive of driving profile selection.

The eagerly anticipated Volkswagen ID.7 is slated to debut in Europe and China this autumn, with its North American launch scheduled for 2024. The ID.7 Pro marks a significant step forward in the realm of electric premium models, showcasing Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation and driving excellence.
