Volkswagen has announced the addition of three new trims to its popular ID.3 lineup, offering consumers more options for the small all-electric car. The new trims include a sportier variant, a more powerful model, and a lower-priced option, all updated with enhanced technology and software.
Introduced in 2019 as Volkswagen’s first fully electric vehicle on the MEB platform, the ID.3 has seen significant success, with 140,800 units sold last year, making it the VW Group’s second best-selling EV after the combined sales of the ID.4 and ID.5 reaching 223,100. The momentum has continued into 2024, with over 26,000 ID.3s delivered in the first three months of the year.

To stay competitive in the evolving EV market, Volkswagen has launched the updated ID.3 earlier this month, featuring new software and infotainment options. The upgraded system includes a larger touchscreen and improved design, providing a more seamless user experience.
The new ID.3 Pro S, the most powerful variant yet, boasts 228 hp (170 kW) as standard, along with a WLTP range of up to 347 miles (550 km). It also features faster charging speeds of up to 175 kW DC charging capacity and added battery pre-conditioning for improved efficiency.
In addition to the Pro S, Volkswagen has introduced the ID.3 GTX, its new sporty flagship, and the entry-level ID.3 Pure. The Pure model, starting at around $40,000 (€36,900) in Germany, offers a 125 kW (168 hp) motor and a 52 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing up to 241 miles (388 km) of WLTP range.
