VinFast has released more information about its upcoming VF 6 and VF 7 models at CES. Both models are set to be launched in the same year and the VF 6 is a small crossover that measures 166.9 inches in length, 71.7 inches in width, and 62.8 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 107.5 inches.
This makes the model slightly shorter than the Chevrolet Trax, but with a longer wheelbase. The entry-level VF 6 Eco comes equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 174 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. VinFast anticipates a range of 399 km according to the WLTP standard for the VF 6 Eco.
Customers seeking more performance can choose the VF 6 Plus, which includes the same battery as the VF 6 Eco but is equipped with a stronger motor producing 201 hp and 228 lb-ft of torque. However, this increased power results in a reduced range of 381 km according to the WLTP standard.
In terms of features, the VF 6 Eco comes with 17-inch wheels, while the VF 6 Plus has larger 19-inch wheels. Both models also include a 12.9-inch infotainment system and driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, highway driving assist, and emergency lane keep assist.
The VF 7 is a larger and more powerful model than the VF 6. It measures 178.9 inches in length and has a 111.8-inch wheelbase, making it slightly longer than the BMW X1. The VF 7 is equipped with a 75.3 kWh battery that powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 201 hp and 228 lb-ft of torque, with a targeted WLTP range of 450 km.
The VF 7 Plus uses the same battery pack but powers a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with 348 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a range of 431 km according to the WLTP standard. The VF 7 Eco comes with larger 19-inch wheels, while the VF 7 Plus has 20-inch wheels and a larger 15-inch infotainment display. VinFast has not yet released pricing information but will begin accepting reservations for the VF 6 and VF 7 in March.
