Vinci Autoroutes and Allego Open Four New Fast-Charging Parks Across French Highways

French motorway management company Vinci Autoroutes has recently announced the opening of four fast-charging parks across the country, in collaboration with Dutch EV charging infrastructure provider, Allego. The four new charge hubs, located in Les Brouzils and Chavagnes on both sides of the A83, Rouillé Pamproux Nord on the A10, and Toulouse Sud Nord on the A61, offer multiple charge points for EV drivers, including CCS fast chargers and a CHAdeMO and AC charging point.

Each of the four fast-charging parks boasts four Alpitronic Hypercharger HYC300s, which can provide up to 300 kW power and two connections each, along with a 50 kW column in the form of a triple charger (CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2). This adds up to a total of eleven charge points per location.

While the press release mentions canopies to provide shade, it is important to note that these are not large roofs that span the entire charge park, in the style of a petrol station. Instead, small canopies that only shade the actual charging station can be seen in the photos, with the vehicle standing outside.

Raphaël Ventre, Head of Marketing and Services at Vinci Autoroutes, expressed his excitement about the new charging stations, stating, “The four new hubs deployed by Allego on our network reinforce the charge-point infrastructure available to cater to e-drivers and ensure an easy transit for them, regardless of the distance to be covered.” Vinci Autoroutes aims to equip all service stations in its network with more than 1,500 charge points before the end of the year. These new hubs represent the first Allego charging points at Vinci Autoroutes, and the operator will be included in the ‘Ulys Electric Pass,’ a Vinci proprietary payment solution for charging.

Mathieu Lanéelle, Managing Director France at Allego, commented on the importance of offering reliable and efficient EV charging solutions along major traffic routes, saying, “With the number of EV drivers increasing significantly nowadays, a company such as Vinci finds a solid partner in Allego to facilitate their growing demand.”
