UK-based developer Bo has officially announced the commencement of production and unveiled the full specifications of its inaugural product, the Bo M. This marks the first step in a series of lightweight electric vehicles (EVs) set to revolutionize urban transportation.
Over the course of 24 months, Bo has meticulously refined and engineered the Bo M, introducing a host of technological advancements that promise to redefine the urban EV landscape. Notable enhancements include a remarkable 100% increase in chassis strength and a substantial boost in peak power output, now standing at a category-leading 1200W.

The core of the Bo M lies in its powertrain, featuring a high-torque motor that delivers a peak power output of 1200W, propelling the vehicle to a top speed of up to 35 km/h (21 mph). A 655Wh battery capacity ensures a commendable range of 50 km on a single charge.
One standout feature of the Bo M is the incorporation of Safesteer™ technology, a dynamic steering stabilization system developed in-house by Bo. This patent-pending innovation is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle’s chassis, offering riders unparalleled control and confidence by effectively stabilizing steering through uneven terrain, bumps, dips, and potholes, ensuring a comfortable and secure ride.
Bo’s journey is underpinned by a team of founders with deep-rooted experience in engineering and automotive design, including former professionals from Williams F1 Advanced Engineering and Jaguar Land Rover. This unique blend of expertise has been instrumental in shaping Bo’s approach to vehicle dynamics and manufacturing.
Oscar Morgan, co-founder and CEO of Bo, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Moving to production is a momentous moment for our company. The entire Bo team has worked tirelessly with a common aim; to create a product that will consistently delight our riders. The team has been focused on developing game-changing features, like our Monocurve chassis with integrated Lock and Load hooks, and safety enhancements such as Safesteer™, whilst using our experience in automotive design to build visually exciting vehicles people feel proud to own and ride. We are excited to see the culmination of these efforts within the Bo M, and I cannot wait for our first riders to take delivery of their M later this year.”
Luke Robus, co-founder and CCO of Bo, emphasized the pursuit of simplicity in design, stating, “We believe in the pursuit of simplicity. From the early sketches to prototypes and through to these pre-production models, the M’s lines come together without complication. This is testament to the rigorousness of our first-class engineering team integrating all the technology we’ve packed into the M. Never cluttering or getting in the way of the product’s purpose, instead celebrating this newfound simplicity with a design language you’ll see in evidence across the range of lightweight EVs we have planned for the future.”
