Toyota invest $35 billion to launch 30 electric cars By 2030

Toyota is getting serious about developing electric cars. They even immediately showed off 16 electric cars from the plan of 30 electric cars that will be presented in the near future. In an official statement, Tuesday (12/14/2021) Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said Toyota was founded to help people have a better and happier life. Currently, one way to make people’s lives happier is to create a clean and comfortable environment.

“I believe achieving carbon neutrality will make people’s lives on this planet happier. We want to help create such a life because Toyota was founded to provide happiness for people. For that we will try to reduce CO2 emissions as best as possible and as soon as possible,” said Akio Toyoda.

He said by 2030 Toyota will produce as many as 30 new electric cars. This commitment has doubled compared to the previous statement, which in 2025 Toyota will only produce 15 green four-wheeled vehicles.

Toyota’s plans for electrification are fantastic. Because they have ambitions to sell as many as 3.5 million electric cars by 2030 globally. They will even make their luxury car brand, Lexus an electric car manufacturer. To achieve that ambition they will invest a very large fund of 2 trillion Yen.

Toyota even showcased some of their concepts for electric cars. In total there are 16 electric concept cars they present as a strong proof of their commitment. Various types of cars ranging from sedans, sports cars, crossovers, SUVs, pickups and light commercial cars are presented.

Toyota did not explain in detail the information about the dozens of electric concept cars. Some of the information received is only the Lexus electric sports car which will be able to cover a distance of 700 kilometers and be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under 2 seconds.
