Toyota and EVgo have inaugurated their first co-branded fast-charging station in California, marking a step toward improving access to high-speed EV charging.
The new DC fast-charging station, equipped with 350kW chargers, was launched on Monday in Baldwin Park and Sacramento as part of Toyota’s broader “Empact” initiative, which aims to expand charging infrastructure in underserved communities.

“Together with EVgo, we are supporting broader access to charging infrastructure for all battery EV drivers, including those driving Toyota and Lexus BEVs,” said James George, General Manager of EV Charging Solutions at Toyota North America. The new stations are positioned in high-traffic areas near grocery stores, shopping malls, and restaurants to enhance convenience for EV owners.
Scott Levitan, EVgo’s executive vice president, emphasized the importance of charging infrastructure expansion, stating that making fast chargers more accessible is essential as EV adoption grows.

California State Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio echoed this sentiment, noting that the new stations will benefit both residents and visitors while promoting clean energy transportation.
EVgo, one of the nation’s largest public fast-charging networks, has deployed over 1,100 stations across 40 states. As part of their collaboration, Toyota and EVgo have also introduced a one-year free public charging offer for buyers or lessees of the 2025 Toyota bZ4X. The latest model of Toyota’s electric SUV, starting at $37,070, features a new “Nightshade” edition and a longer wheelbase for improved interior space.
