Thor Industries has introduced the Embark, a range-extended electric Class A motorhome developed under its Entegra Coach brand, marking what the company says is the world’s first of its kind. Built on a purpose-designed chassis from Harbinger Motors, the vehicle is designed to balance electric efficiency with long-distance capability.

The Embark features a 140-kWh battery providing 105 miles of pure electric range, while an integrated low-emission gasoline extender increases total driving distance to up to 450 miles. Its 800-volt system supports DC fast charging, along with charging at campsites, home outlets, or through the extender. The motorhome can also function as a mobile backup power source during emergencies.

“This launch highlights that electrification is central to the future of mobility, including recreational vehicle travel,” said Thor Industries President and CEO Bob Martin. “The Embark reinforces Thor’s innovation leadership and provides differentiation for the Entegra Coach brand.”

The company emphasized that the Embark is designed to address range anxiety, one of the main barriers to electric RV adoption. Safety and convenience features include ultrasonic collision warnings, a backup camera, and real-time tire pressure monitoring.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2026, with rental units available through Thor’s subsidiary THL the same year for consumer testing. “With its reputation for excellence, Entegra Coach is ideally positioned to deliver this innovation,” said Ken Walters, President and CEO of the Jayco Family of Companies, adding that the brand will conduct extensive testing to refine the vehicle.

The Embark was unveiled at the Elkhart Dealer Open House in Indiana, North America’s largest RV dealer event, where industry professionals previewed the model. Thor said the launch forms part of its five-year electrification strategy, aiming to bring more sustainable solutions to the recreational vehicle market.
