Electric truck manufacturer, Votla Trucks, has announced that it has completed a test program of its electric truck, the 16-ton Volta Zero for cruising in extreme heat.

Taking place over six weeks in the technical center of Nardo, Southern Italy, this hot weather testing program is designed to ensure that the Volta Zero will deliver exceptional levels of reliability and durability.

an Collins, Chief Product Officer of Volta Trucks, said that this test allows its engineers to incorporate their latest inventions or innovations into series production of customer-specification vehicles starting early next year.

ā€œOur hot weather testing program marks another important milestone in the development and delivery of the Volta Zero. This ensures that Volta Zero will provide a reliable and long-lasting experience for future customers.”

The Swedish electric truck manufacturer has tested its product, the Volta Zero, under extreme heat at ambient temperatures of up to 39 degrees Celsius during the day and 28 degrees Celsius at night.

As a result, the air conditioning and thermal management systems of the Volta Zero battery and powertrain have been thoroughly evaluated and pushed to the extreme to ensure optimal operational reliability.

In addition, the Volta Trucks vehicle development team also claims to have completed more than 2,500 km of customer-focused driving cycles at highway speeds, including on urban roads.

In addition, these tests have also been carried out on a more dusty rough surface, which poses an even greater challenge to the Volta Zero chassis, pushing the vehicle’s suspension, steering, traction control and braking systems beyond the expected limits.
