BYD Automobile, a China-based automaker, has launched three electric car (EV) models in the European market, namely the Han, Tang and Atto 3.
BYD’s head of European sales, Pere Brugal said that BYD will also introduce the BYD Seal electric sedan next year, having previously been present in the Chinese market.
The Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer plans to offer all three electric car models to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, France and the UK, as well as in Israel by the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, the company says that the Atto 3 electric SUV has passed the Euro NCAP crash test with a 5-star rating.
In addition to the BYD Seal, the company is also considering the launch of the BYD Dolphin, which is an all-electric hatchback and is also a very popular segment in Europe.
Currently, the company is building more than 200,000 plug-in cars every month (typically 50/50 BEV/PHEV) and is steadily increasing production, although the list of orders is still being counted in a few months.
Europe itself is not the only export market opened by BYD, as the company has expanded its product sales to several countries such as the United States and Canada.
