Martin Viecha, Head of Investor Relations (IR) at Tesla, has shared important information about the upcoming Cybertruck first delivery event scheduled to take place at Gigafactory Texas on Thursday, November 30, 2023. In contrast to previous Tesla events like the Cyber Rodeo, the first deliveries of the Cybertruck are set to commence notably earlier.
According to Viecha, the Cybertruck delivery event is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CT (11 a.m. PST). While expectations are high for a live-streamed event, details about when the livestream will commence have not been provided by the Tesla executive.
Viecha clarified the timing of the event on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, stating, “The Cybertruck delivery event starts at around 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, in case someone’s unsure. I’ve noticed that few people thought it’s an evening event.”

The announcement surprised some electric vehicle enthusiasts on social media, particularly since Tesla typically holds first delivery events for its vehicles in the United States during the evening. Notably, the Model 3’s inaugural customer delivery event in Giga Shanghai took place in the afternoon, but that was in China. In the U.S., events for vehicles like the Model Y and Model 3 occurred at night.
The decision to hold the Cybertruck’s first deliveries in the afternoon has implications for global viewership, with enthusiasts in European countries, like Germany, being able to view the event at around 8 p.m. local time. Conversely, in countries such as Australia—a significant market for pickup trucks—the event would kick off very early at 6 a.m. local time.
Anticipation for the Cybertruck’s first deliveries is evident, reflected in the attention the vehicle has garnered in Tesla’s physical stores across the United States. Reports on social media platforms, including X, suggest that the Cybertruck’s display units in select Tesla stores are drawing considerable interest from visitors. Notably, Tesla bulls such as Gary Black from The Future Fund have indicated that the Cybertruck could potentially have a positive impact on the company’s broader electric vehicle lineup.
