As Tesla continues to generate excitement for its Cybertruck, showcasing its off-road capabilities, instances of Cybertruck owners encountering difficulties off-road are on the rise.
Tesla has marketed the electric pickup truck as a rugged off-road vehicle, highlighting features such as its adaptive air suspension, which offers 12 inches of travel and 17 inches of clearance, making it a formidable off-roading vehicle without modification.

However, reports on social media paint a different picture, with numerous videos and images surfacing of Cybertrucks struggling off-road in recent weeks as Tesla expands deliveries to more customers. Instances like a Cybertruck getting stuck in the sand in Santa Cruz have become more frequent, leading to the creation of a subreddit dedicated to Cybertrucks stuck in various locations.

Despite these challenges, there is speculation that the issue may not lie with the truck itself but rather with the driver’s experience and skill level. In an effort to counter the negative press, Tesla released an impressive video of a Cybertruck conquering Hell’s Revenge in Utah’s Moab desert, showcasing its off-road capabilities.

Wes Morrill, Cybertruck’s lead engineer, also shared a video of the vehicle navigating the challenging terrain of Hell’s Revenge, highlighting its performance in extreme conditions. These demonstrations are particularly noteworthy as the Cybertruck is shown achieving these feats in its factory stock configuration, without aftermarket modifications typically seen on vehicles attempting similar off-road challenges.
As Tesla works to address these challenges and highlight the Cybertruck’s capabilities, it remains to be seen how the vehicle will perform in real-world off-road scenarios and how Tesla will address any issues that arise.
