Tesla has delivered its 300,000th vehicle in the United Kingdom, reaching a new milestone as the electric vehicle maker continues to expand its presence in one of Europe’s largest EV markets.
The achievement comes a year after Tesla surpassed 250,000 cumulative registrations in the country and follows a strong performance in May, when the automaker registered 2,897 vehicles, up 44% from the same month a year earlier.
Tesla’s UK sales momentum has been supported by a strong first quarter. Between January and March, the company registered 11,739 vehicles, reclaiming the top position among electric vehicle brands in the country.
Strong First-Quarter Performance
Much of Tesla’s first-quarter growth was driven by March deliveries, when the company registered 8,599 vehicles. The performance helped the Tesla Model Y retain its position as the best-selling electric vehicle in the UK.
Tesla has long maintained that quarterly delivery figures provide a more accurate reflection of demand than individual monthly results due to the way the company schedules vehicle shipments and deliveries.
The automaker said customer orders and reservations continue to exceed levels seen during the same periods in both 2024 and 2025.
“We continue into 2026 with an order backlog, indicating a strong demand for Tesla in the UK,” the company said. “Current orders have an expected delivery timing going as far as September, as we face a large demand from customers for highly efficient electric vehicles in this climate.”
Order Backlog Extends Into September
The company said strong customer demand has created an order backlog extending several months into the future, with some current orders expected to be delivered as late as September.
The backlog suggests Tesla continues to attract buyers despite intensifying competition from established automakers and new entrants launching electric models across multiple vehicle segments.
Britain remains one of Europe’s most important electric vehicle markets, supported by growing consumer interest in zero-emission transportation and an expanding charging infrastructure network.
Milestone Delivery Marks Growth in UK Market
Tesla said its 300,000th UK customer was Neil, an education professional from Formby, who collected his new vehicle with his family over the weekend.
The latest milestone highlights Tesla’s continued growth in the UK, where the company has established itself as one of the leading electric vehicle brands. The Model Y remains a key contributor to that success, helping Tesla maintain a strong position in the country’s rapidly evolving EV market.
As the company enters the second half of 2026, Tesla is expected to focus on converting its order backlog into deliveries while competing against a growing number of electric vehicle offerings from rival manufacturers.
