Tesla has started a software update for their electric vehicle with the label 2022.40.1. This software update offers various improvements for Tesla electric vehicles.

The most important improvement is the increase in charging efficiency, both when using the Tesla Supercharger and other non-Tesla DC fast chargers.

Improved charging efficiency is achieved by updating the thermal control to account for the power output of each charging station. Improved charging efficiency promises faster charging times and lower energy costs.

“During DC fast charging, the thermal system controls have been optimized for each charging station's power capability, improving both charging and on-route battery preconditioning efficiency. This results in fast charge time and reduced energy costs.” Tesla says

The 2022.40.1 software update also adds a Driver's Door Unlock Mode switch. This feature allows Tesla owners to press and hold the lock button on the driver's door to unlock all doors and open the trunk at the same time.

Furthermore, you can now enable Guard Mode and Dog Mode at the same time, and if you do then the alarm sound will be muted, but you will still be alerted in case of a potential problem. Guard Mode still captures and saves video footage, only the loud alarm won't sound to frighten your dog.

Finally, the built-in media player can now display radio station logos, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

As usual, the software rollout is likely to take some time, meaning it may take days (or even weeks) before all vehicles everywhere get their hands on this one. But wait a minute, it's on its way!
