In a recent move to uphold safety standards, Tesla has issued a recall for 1,337 vehicles in the United States due to an issue with misaligned cameras that could impact certain semi-autonomous features. The affected models include the 2023 Model S, X, and Y.
The problem was identified as a misalignment in the pitch angle of the forward-facing cameras, potentially rendering essential active safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane-keeping Assist, unavailable without warning to the driver.

Upon detecting the defect, Tesla acted promptly and implemented necessary modifications to its production line at the manufacturing facilities. One of the crucial changes involved narrowing the specification for the pitch angle of the front-facing cameras. It’s essential to note that no other cameras in the vehicles included in the recall are affected.
Affected customers are set to receive notifications via mail by mid-September, informing them of the recall. To check whether their vehicles are included in the recall, customers can also utilize Tesla’s VIN Recall search tool.
The remedy for the issue is relatively straightforward, as Tesla Service will conduct inspections and perform potential adjustments to any affected cameras at no expense to the customer. This process is estimated to take approximately twenty minutes and can be scheduled at the convenience of the vehicle owners.
