Tesla Inc. has surpassed 50,000 vehicle owners in Turkey, just three years after starting deliveries in the country, the company announced on its official social media account X.
In the post, Tesla highlighted the milestone with a photo of its 50,000th delivery, a black Model Y. “There are now more than 50k Tesla owners in Türkiye, less than 3 years after we delivered our first car in the country,” Tesla Europe and Middle East stated.

The milestone coincides with strong sales momentum in Turkey. In August 2025, Tesla sold 8,730 Model Y vehicles, an 86% increase from July and accounting for nearly half of all electric vehicles sold in the country that month. The company outpaced most competitors, with only Renault reporting higher total sales volumes. BYD followed as the second-best-selling EV brand with 1,639 units sold.

Tesla’s growth in Turkey is supported by favorable tax policies for electric vehicles. Buyers benefit from reduced Special Consumption Tax rates of 25% to 170%, compared with 70% to 220% for gasoline-powered vehicles. EV owners also receive exemptions from the Motor Vehicle Tax for the first ten years, with additional credits potentially providing up to $30,000 in savings.
The rapid expansion reflects both increasing consumer adoption of EVs in Turkey and Tesla’s growing market presence, bolstered by the company’s popular Model Y crossover.
