The Tesla Model Y is so dominant from a sales perspective, now the electric crossover is on track to become the best-selling car in the world.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims the Model Y will be the world’s best-selling vehicle from a revenue perspective this year. Furthermore, Musk stated that the Y will be the world’s number one vehicle in terms of sales by 2023.

To achieve this target, Tengah is trying to overcome supply chain problems so that car production can return to normal. This year alone, Tesla is targeting car sales of 1.3 million units.

Currently, the best-selling car in the world is still occupied by the Toyota Corolla with sales of 1,150,000 last year. Meanwhile, Tesla recorded sales of 936,222 electric cars.

If this target is achieved, then it will be an extraordinary achievement for Tesla considering the price of the Tesla Model Y electric car is quite expensive. Each quarter, 150,000 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric cars are sold.

In order to make the Tesla Model Y the best-selling car in the world, the company will focus on producing the car at the Giga Berlin so that EV deliveries to Europe will be faster.
