Euro NCAP conducted a crash test for the Tesla Model Y with the latest safety feature update. The results are very positive, the electric car won high points in each sector.

Front and side crash test and all airbags worked perfectly. Then the position of the airbag also supports well in vital areas, so that the injury is not too severe. Seat belt tensioner, able to work well to hold the body bounced forward.

The center airbag also provides impact protection between the driver and passenger. Then the seat is able to support the neck to avoid injury. The NCAP gives a rating of 97% for adult protection, and 87% for child protection.

While the Model Y’s braking assistance feature is able to detect pedestrians, cyclists, and even cars in front of it, thanks to Tesla Vision. Then active safety systems such as lane keeping assist are also tested, to keep the car from getting out of line. As a result, NCAP scored 82% for pedestrian protection, and 98% for safety features.

“Features on Tesla cars provide fairly good and adequate protection to detect pedestrians. As a result, the risk is very small, if a pedestrian crosses while the Tesla is driving,” wrote Euro NCAP.

The Tesla Model Y Long Range variant has a range of up to 532 km, and can reach a top speed of up to 217 kph.

While the Performance type, the distance that can be reached is only 513 km, and the maximum speed is 249 kph.
