Additionally, Tesla received recognition for having the best technology among car brands.
AutoTrader highlighted several key features of the Model Y that contributed to its award. The car’s minimalist cabin, impressive central touchscreen, impressive battery range, and effortless acceleration were among the factors that impressed the judges. Furthermore, the increased load capacity of the trunk, extra headroom, and higher driving position compared to the Model 3 were noted as important advantages. The easy access to Tesla’s Supercharger network of fast chargers was also a significant factor in the decision.

It is important to note that in the UK, compact hatchbacks are typically considered family cars, which differs from the perspective of American consumers when it comes to accommodating larger groups and their belongings.
This accolade adds to the growing list of awards for the Model Y. The car was previously named the “Best Electric Vehicle of 2022” by Cars.com and received the highly coveted Top Safety Pick Plus rating from the IIHS. Euro NCAP also recognized it as the safest Small SUV, awarding it a five-star rating for passenger protection in the event of an accident.
The Model Y’s popularity is evident among the general public, as it claimed the title of the world’s best-selling car in the first quarter of this year, with a staggering 267,200 units sold worldwide. It was closely followed by the Toyota Corolla, which sold 256,400 units.
