Tesla has introduced a new rental service at its Collision Centers in the United States, providing customers with access to electric vehicles while their cars undergo repairs, the company said.

The program allows Tesla owners to rent a vehicle for US$45 per day, according to signage at a California Collision Center. The rate appears to apply to the Model 3, though the company said its full lineup is available depending on availability.

Tesla’s rental offering includes benefits not typically included in standard rentals. Each vehicle comes with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) at no extra cost, free Supercharging, and free toll coverage, helping reduce travel expenses for renters.

The service is available to customers whose Tesla vehicles are scheduled for repairs at a Collision Center. Tesla said rental vehicles are not offered at standard Service Centers. Once an appointment is confirmed, Collision Center staff contact customers to coordinate rental availability, pricing, and pickup.

Renters also have access to Tesla Roadside Assistance, which can be requested via the Tesla app or by phone in case of issues such as a flat tire or low battery.

It remains unclear whether the rental program is available nationwide, as Tesla’s website notes that rentals are not offered at all locations. The initiative addresses a common challenge for Tesla owners, who often receive gas-powered rental cars through insurance providers, limiting access to the company’s electric vehicles.
