Tesla has introduced a new incentive in China, offering customers the chance to win a tour of its Giga Shanghai facility as the automaker seeks to leverage the country’s car consumption stimulus. From now until December 3, Chinese customers who order a new Tesla vehicle via the company’s trade-in service and complete the delivery within the contract period will be eligible for a lottery, the company announced on Weibo.

The incentive includes a round-trip airfare and a one-night hotel stay for the winners and their companions. A total of 10 winners will be selected, each allowed to bring a guest on the tour, according to Tesla’s announcement.

This move comes as Tesla faces declining sales in China. Data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shows Tesla China sold 68,280 vehicles in October, a 22.69% drop from 88,321 in September and a 5.32% decrease from 72,115 a year earlier. The Shanghai factory, which produces the Model 3 and Model Y for both domestic delivery and export, is Tesla’s largest global facility, with a current capacity of nearly 1 million units annually. “China’s fourth quarter is typically a peak season for vehicle purchases, especially new energy vehicles,” the CPCA stated, predicting record sales supported by government stimulus.

Amid local government incentives, the Chinese car market is experiencing renewed growth as provinces implement trade-in subsidies and other car consumption policies. Since April, Tesla has offered a 5-year, 0% financing program as part of its broader efforts to attract buyers in China, its second-largest market after the United States.
