Tesla has officially introduced its Model Y rear-wheel drive car in South Korea, marking another milestone in the company’s global expansion. The vehicle, priced at 56.99 million won ($45,139), is now eligible for the maximum rate of government subsidies, according to information available on Tesla’s website.

The Model Y offers an impressive driving range of 350 kilometers (217.48 miles) and boasts a top speed of approximately 217 km per hour. Potential buyers can expect delivery between August and September, as confirmed by the electric vehicle manufacturer.

Media reports have revealed that the Tesla Model Y cars being sold in South Korea are manufactured in China. Tesla Korea shared a tweet showcasing a video of the vehicles being produced at the company’s renowned Gigafactory in Shanghai before being shipped to the Korean market.

Tesla is committed to making their electric vehicles even more accessible to consumers by leveraging subsidies and their referral program. By taking advantage of these offerings, customers have the opportunity to reduce the price of the Model Y below the 50 million won mark, as highlighted by the company.

In Seoul, prospective buyers of electric vehicles can benefit from subsidies of up to 8.6 million won if the purchase price falls below 57 million won. This further incentivizes the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation options in the region.

The introduction of the Model Y rear-wheel drive in South Korea not only expands Tesla’s product lineup but also solidifies the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its ongoing efforts to revolutionize the automotive industry.
