Tesla’s Giga Texas plant has reached a production milestone of 500,000 vehicles, highlighting the facility’s central role in the company’s U.S. operations and its push into more affordable electric vehicles.

The milestone includes both Model Y and Cybertruck production, with the Model Y representing the vast majority of output. Tesla congratulated its team, saying, “Congratulations to the Giga Texas team for building 500k vehicles.”

Giga Texas officially opened on April 7, 2022, with a launch event dubbed the “Cyber Rodeo.” Production began with the Model Y before expanding to include the Cybertruck.

In early October, Tesla introduced two new entry-level electric vehicles in the United States — the Model Y Standard RWD and Model 3 Standard — broadening its more cost-efficient lineup. The Model Y Standard, priced from US$39,990, is Tesla’s most affordable crossover to date and features a 69 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 321 miles (517 km) on a single charge, compared with 357 miles on the Premium RWD trim.

The production milestone comes as Tesla reported record global deliveries of 497,099 vehicles in the third quarter of 2025, lifted by strong U.S. demand ahead of the expiration of the federal EV tax credit and surpassing Wall Street’s forecast of 439,612 units.

Quarterly deliveries rose 7.4% from a year earlier and 29.4% from the previous quarter. Model 3 and Model Y vehicles accounted for the bulk of sales at 481,166 units, up 9.4% year-on-year and 28.8% quarter-on-quarter.
