Tesla has extended its free lifetime Supercharging promotion for the Cybertruck Foundation Series, which was originally set to expire at the end of 2024. The extension runs through January 31, 2025, as the company works to clear its remaining inventory of these high-end models.
The promotion is available for new Foundation Series Cybertrucks ordered after December 27, 2024, and it remains tied to the original buyer’s Tesla Account, making it non-transferable. However, customers will still be responsible for any Supercharger congestion or idle fees.
“Customers who purchase a new Cybertruck Foundation Series are eligible for free Supercharging during your ownership of the vehicle. Order must be placed on or after December 27, 2024 and must be delivered by January 31, 2025. Offer is tied to your Tesla Account and cannot be transferred to another vehicle, person or order, even in the case of ownership transfer,” Tesla clarified in a statement.
Additionally, the offer excludes used vehicles, business orders, and vehicles used for commercial purposes like taxis and delivery services.
This extended offer comes after Tesla recently cut inventory prices for certain Cybertruck models and included the 2025 batches in the federal tax credit program, which grants up to $7,500.
While the price cut may appeal to some customers, the 2025 Cybertruck orders, now eligible for the tax credit, are likely to be a more cost-effective choice compared to purchasing from current inventory.
However, for those interested in the Foundation Series, the added value of the free Supercharging and upgraded features such as the Full Self-Driving (FSD) option may still make it an attractive option.
Tesla’s latest move also coincides with other promotional strategies, including significant price reductions for some demo units and more dual-motor Cyberbeast inventory offers. The company continues to adapt its offerings, creating a more complex but potentially rewarding decision-making process for prospective buyers.
