Tesla has officially discontinued the sale of the Foundation Series Cybertrucks in the United States, signaling the start of sales for the regular versions of the highly anticipated electric truck. This change opens up Cybertruck orders to all customers, eliminating the need for a prior reservation.
The Foundation Series, launched alongside the Cybertruck in late 2023, was marketed as a limited-edition offering. Available in Dual Motor AWD and Tri-Motor Cyberbeast variants, it featured several accessories and premium options included in the price. However, this exclusive package came at a hefty cost—$20,000 more than the regular versions—allowing Tesla to capitalize on early sales while ramping up production.
Earlier this month, Tesla began offering the standard Cybertruck models to select reservation holders, but now, as per an update on Tesla’s website, anyone can place an order.
The Dual Motor version is priced at $79,990, while the Tri-Motor Cyberbeast is listed at $99,990. Notably, the online configurator does not provide an estimated delivery date for new orders, a divergence from Tesla’s typical vehicle sales process.
Customers who pre-ordered the Foundation Series will still receive their vehicles, and those with longstanding reservations will be prioritized over new orders.
Meanwhile, in Canada, Foundation Series deliveries are expected to begin before the end of October, with the regular, more affordable Cybertruck variants likely arriving in 2025. Based on current pricing, the Dual Motor Cybertruck could start at around C$109,000, and the Cyberbeast at approximately C$136,000.
