Tesla recently carried out a software update that allows users to play video games on the touch screen mounted in front of the dashboard. Tesla has added games in a software update to most of its vehicles this summer.

But this update raises concerns about driving safety. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday it was discussing with Tesla about the software update.

“Accidents due to distraction are a concern, especially in vehicles equipped with various comfort technologies such as entertainment screens. We are aware of drivers’ concerns and are discussing these features with manufacturers,” NHTSA said in an email to Reuters.

Meanwhile, the Times said Tesla added three games to their software update. The company has a warning reading: “Playing while the car is in motion is for passengers only.” To play the game a button is provided asking for confirmation that the player is a passenger, although a driver can play just by pressing the button.
