Sightings of Tesla’s Cybertruck prototype have become a common occurrence, yet they continue to spark a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and curiosity among fans each time.
Just a day prior to Tesla’s unveiling of a picture showcasing the first production Cybertruck at Gigafactory Texas, a keen-eyed Twitter user stumbled upon a camouflaged Cybertruck on 280 between Alpine Road and Page Hill Road, near Palo Alto in California.
In a short video captured by the observer, not much can be deciphered apart from a fleeting glimpse of the electric truck effortlessly overtaking another vehicle on the highway. It is no surprise that the sighting took place in close proximity to the Tesla Fremont Factory and the company’s engineering headquarters in Palo Alto.

According to reports, Tesla has amassed over 1.5 million reservations for the highly anticipated electric truck. CEO Elon Musk, during the 2022 earnings call earlier this year, disclosed that volume production is set to commence at the beginning of 2024.
Anticipation is mounting as people envision the transformative impact the Cybertruck will have on American roads once deliveries ramp up next year. Numerous social media users have shared images of the Cybertruck in transit, showcasing its visually striking “impenetrable” exoskeleton constructed from “ultra-hard cold-rolled stainless steel.”
Rumors circulating suggest that the initial release of the Cybertruck will offer a range of 350 miles, with Tesla potentially introducing a 500-mile version at a later date. If these rumors prove true, the Cybertruck’s initial range will align with the Rivian R1T but fall short of the Hummer EV 3X and Chevrolet Silverado EV.
Initially, Tesla projected a price of $39,900 for the base rear-wheel-drive version of the Cybertruck and $49,900 for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant. However, the company has since removed pricing and specifications from its website, leaving details shrouded in uncertainty.
In light of recent developments where Ford reduced prices for the F-150 Lightning by up to $10,000, Musk hinted at the cost of Tesla’s electric truck. Musk remarked on the high expense of the Ford EV, particularly in light of the prevailing high-interest rates for car loans.
Following the price cuts, the F-150 Lightning’s Pro variant now starts at just under $50,000. Based on Musk’s implications, it is conceivable that the entry-level Cybertruck could be priced between $35,000 and $40,000.
