Tesla has upped the ante on its end-of-quarter delivery incentives, now offering 10,000 free Supercharging miles to Tesla owners who trade in for a new vehicle by the month’s end.
It has become customary for Tesla to provide additional incentives to customers to encourage deliveries by the end of each quarter, commonly known as “end-of-quarter incentives.” These incentives often come in the form of direct discounts or complimentary features, such as a 3-month subscription to Teslaâs Full Self-Driving package or free Supercharging miles.

Recently, Tesla had been granting customers who take delivery of a new Model S, Model X, or Model Y by March 31, 2024, 5,000 miles of free Supercharging for their new vehicle.
Today, Tesla revealed that Tesla owners who trade in for a new car by the end of the quarter will receive an extra 5,000 miles, totaling 10,000 miles:
“Customers who trade in a vehicle by March 31, 2024, will receive 5,000 miles of free Supercharging when leasing a new vehicle or a total of 10,000 free Supercharging miles for cash or finance purchases.”

This new incentive also extends to leasing, excluding the original 5,000 miles, which is reserved for non-Tesla owners purchasing a new car with cash or financing.
The Supercharging miles awarded through this incentive will expire two years after the delivery date. Tesla’s strategy of incentivizing end-of-quarter deliveries is aimed at managing inventory levels. As one of the few direct-to-consumer automakers, Tesla retains ownership of vehicles until delivery, making unsold inventory a financial burden, as production costs are incurred without revenue recognition.
