Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles said it has built a network of more than 25,000 public chargers across 150 Indian cities to support its electric small commercial vehicle (SCV) customers, with plans to double the number by September 2026.
The network spans major metros including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Customers can locate chargers through the company’s ‘Fleet Edge’ app available on Android and Apple smartphones. “Crossing the 25,000 public charging station mark is a pivotal milestone in our commitment to advancing electric cargo mobility and its enabling ecosystem,” said Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head for the SCV and Pick-up division.
Tata Motors has sold more than 10,000 electric light commercial vehicles to date, which have logged over 60 million kilometres on Indian roads, Haldar said. To scale further, the company signed agreements with 13 charging point operators, including Charge Zone, Kazam, Zeon Electric, and Volttic, to install and manage the next 25,000 stations.
The automaker currently offers three electric SCVs — the Ace EV, Ace Pro EV, and Ace EV 1000 — and may expand the portfolio with the Intra EV Pickup unveiled at Auto Expo 2025. Separately, its passenger EV subsidiary plans to install more than 30,000 public charging points nationwide by 2027 in partnership with charging firms.
