The SUPER73 C1X has emerged as a highly-anticipated, electrifying motorcycle design from SUPER73, an electric bike company based in Los Angeles. Enthusiastic riders won’t have to twiddle their thumbs for too long, as the Orange County Business Journal recently reported that the launch of SUPER73 C1X is expected this spring. This would signify a significant reduction in the initial schedule, with the company anticipating the commencement of bike production in “late 2023” just a year ago.

It appears that SUPER73 has poured all its resources into the new electric motorcycle’s development, with a team of four engineers consisting of two former Rivian employees. Interestingly, Rivian, the electric truck manufacturer, is also working on an electric bike, with the help of designers sourced from e-bike companies. However, there’s no timeline on the Rivian e-bike, so it’s possible that the C1X electric motorcycle from SUPER73 will hit the streets first.

At present, there isn’t much information available regarding the SUPER73 C1X’s specifications, but we do know what the company’s goals are. They’re targeting a maximum speed of “at least 75 mph (120 km/h)” and a range of 100 miles (160 km) in the city. Most light electric motorcycle companies rate city range, which would put the battery pack’s size at a minimum of 5-6 kWh of capacity.

Interestingly, SUPER73’s first electric motorcycle has piqued the interest of not only motorcycle enthusiasts but also people who have never ridden a motorcycle before. According to the company’s survey, 60% of people wanted the company to create a motorcycle, despite 67% of its customers having no prior experience riding a motorcycle.

Details on the C1X’s pricing are as hazy as its performance specs, but it seems that the company is planning to release multiple models to cater to different price points. The entry-level model is expected to be priced under $10,000, making it a contender against other low-cost commuter electric motorcycles like the Ryvid Anthem, SONDORS Metacycle, and CSC RX1E. Interested buyers can reserve their spot for a nominal fee of $73.
