Sony Group is rumored to be looking for technology partners for the development of their electric vehicles in the future. According to a Reuters report, Sony will try to create an electric car in the near future with the entertainment aspect in it.

This was confirmed directly by the senior general manager, Izumi Kawanishi. According to him, currently the transformation of vehicles is starting to be felt, as is the change in technology from mobile phones to smartphones.

“We see the risk of ignoring EVs is greater than the challenges it poses,” said Izumi as quoted by Tempo from Reuters today, Saturday, January 22, 2022.

With the shift to electric cars, some technology companies have indeed started trying to start producing electric vehicles. Not only Xiaomi and Apple, Sony is also ready to enter the automotive market to welcome the era of electrification.

Sony Chief Executive Kenichiro Yoshida has suggested changing the electric car development project two years ago. They even showed off their electric vehicles at the CES 2022 show this month.

“We understand that speed is important in making decisions,” Kawanishi said.

But so far Kawanishi still doesn’t want to talk much about Sony’s electric car production. He also did not explain whether the electric vehicle would be present this year or the following year.
