Japanese technology company Sony plans to enter the electric vehicle industry through Sony Mobility Inc in the spring of 2022.

Kenichiro Yoshida, President of Sony said that this was done in order to make the company grow and expand quickly.

Launching Reuters, Wednesday (5/1/2022), Kenichiro conveyed Sony’s plans to enter the electric vehicle industry at the online Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2022 technology conference.

The new company will be called Sony Mobility Inc and is targeted to be operational in the spring of 2022.

Sony is known to have started testing its prototype vehicle and is being tested on public roads.

Tech companies in the midst of developing innovations are also showing interest in the electric vehicle industry.

Besides Sony, last Xiaomi and Huawei also announced its ambition to enter the electric vehicle industry.
