On June 1, Smart #1, the innovative electric vehicle (EV) developed through a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, made its official debut in France. This comes after the successful delivery of Smart #1 in the German market, which commenced in March this year. Customers can expect to receive their vehicles within a delivery cycle of 2 to 8 weeks after finalizing their configurations.

With a strong emphasis on accelerating its global business operations, Smart has outlined plans to introduce Smart #1 in several additional European markets. These markets include Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. Furthermore, the company intends to expand its presence beyond Europe by launching Smart #1 in the Malaysian market during the fourth quarter of this year.

In order to meet the rising demand from the global market and fulfill its commitment to deliver Smart #3 within June, Smart has made significant upgrades and adjustments to its production capacity throughout the month of May. These efforts resulted in the delivery of 2,624 units of Smart #1 in China during May, slightly lower than the previous quarter. Since the initiation of deliveries in September 2022, Smart #1 has achieved a commendable sales figure of 21,909 units. In China, the price range for the Smart #1 is set between 179,000 and 279,000 yuan (approximately $26,000 to $40,500 USD).

Smart #1 is a stylish and practical five-seater EV, conceptualized by Mercedes and manufactured by Geely at its state-of-the-art Xi’an factory. The vehicle is built upon Geely’s highly regarded SEA platform. Measuring at 4270/1822/1636mm with a wheelbase of 2750mm, the Smart #1 exhibits a curb weight of 1820kg.
