Skoda Motorsport has introduced the Enyaq RS Race concept, a high-performance electric crossover coupe designed for track readiness. This fully electric model showcases a series of enhancements aimed at reducing weight and improving competitive performance.
The motorsport focus of the Enyaq RS Race concept is evident in its aggressive styling, featuring enhanced bumpers and an aerodynamic body kit, complemented by a minimalist grille and darkened headlights.
Additional design modifications include a ventilated hood and extended fenders, as well as small winglets on the roof to channel airflow toward a substantial rear wing.
The vehicle is also equipped with aerodynamically optimized mirrors, a prominent diffuser, and 20-inch wheels fitted with low-profile tires.
Inside, the cabin is stripped down for racing, featuring a chromoly roll cage and two Atech racing seats with six-point harnesses. The Skoda Motorsport team has integrated an automatic fire extinguisher, a rally-style hydraulic handbrake, and a race-spec steering wheel. A biocomposite dashboard houses a 13-inch infotainment system, merging sustainability with performance.
Sound plays a crucial role in the racing experience, and the concept includes a Havas premium audio system that enhances the driving experience at speeds exceeding 19 mph (30 km/h).
Skoda notes that the sound produced is significantly louder than that of the road-going Enyaq Coupe RS and can be adjusted according to driver preference.
Beyond its aesthetic upgrades, the Enyaq RS Race concept features a new steering system and high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes. An adjustable sports suspension enables fine-tuning of compression, stiffness, and rebound settings for optimal handling.
Recognizing that electric vehicles often carry substantial weight, Skoda has utilized a sustainable biocomposite material that matches the rigidity and weight savings of carbon fiber.
The concept also incorporates polycarbonate windows and a biocomposite panel in place of the traditional panoramic glass roof. These modifications contribute to an impressive weight reduction of 697 lbs (316 kg) compared to its standard counterpart.
Powering the Enyaq RS Race concept is an 82 kWh battery pack, paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS).
The notable weight savings enable the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under five seconds, a marked improvement over the standard model, which achieves the same speed in 5.5 seconds.
