British firm Lunaz has introduced a remarkable transformation to a 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II, originally owned by Oscar-winning actress Sophia Loren. The restoration project, part of Lunaz’s Hotel Programme, includes a shift to an electric powertrain, presenting a blend of timeless elegance and modern technology.
The classic Silver Cloud II now boasts a distinctive two-tone paint scheme, merging Shale and Rich Gold over its panels. The interior has been meticulously crafted, featuring Sage leather upholstery, burr walnut wood accents, and bespoke carpets made from recycled materials such as reclaimed nylon fishing nets and ocean plastics. Additional upgrades include heated seats, an advanced audio system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB charging ports, a reversing camera, and cruise control.

Crucially, Lunaz has replaced the original internal combustion engine with an electric powertrain, although specific details about this new system remain undisclosed. However, Lunaz has a track record of fitting electric vehicles with substantial 120 kWh battery packs, suggesting a similar configuration for this Silver Cloud II.
This unique Silver Cloud II is part of Lunaz’s Hotel Programme, aimed at restoring and modifying classic Bentley and Rolls-Royce models for luxury hotels worldwide. These electric vehicle conversions will serve various purposes, including airport transportation and chauffeur services, in markets spanning Europe, the Middle East, the U.S., and South East Asia.

David Lorenz, the founder of Lunaz, remarked, “In elevating this beautiful, historically important classic to fully-electric power, we’ve remained absolutely faithful to its original spirit and purpose: to use the most advanced technology available to convey passengers in perfect serenity, privacy, and comfort. Through this car, and other vehicles built through the Lunaz Hotel Programme, we’re enabling the world’s leading hotel and residence operators to add a new dimension to their guests’ experience.”
