Chinese automaker Seres disclosed on Thursday a substantial 654% year-on-year surge in sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) for the month of January, attributing the impressive growth primarily to the success of its AITO-branded vehicles.
Seres achieved sales of 36,838 NEVs last month, with a noteworthy 32,973 units featuring the AITO marque, a collaboration between the Chongqing-based automaker and Chinese technology giant Huawei.
The newly introduced AITO M7 emerged as a significant contributor to the marque’s overall deliveries, surpassing 30,000 units in monthly sales for the first time. Seres revealed that it has received an impressive 140,000 orders for the AITO M7 model, anticipating this, along with the M9, to fuel a fresh wave of growth for the Shanghai-listed company.
In projections submitted to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Seres estimates its operating revenue for 2023 to range between 35.5 billion yuan ($4.94 billion) and 36.5 billion yuan.
Furthermore, the net profit attributable to the parent company in the same year is anticipated to witness a substantial increase, ranging from 29.5% to 45.1%, compared to the previous year. The robust performance underscores Seres’ positive outlook as it navigates the dynamic electric vehicle market.
